WFP food coupon program improves nutrition outcomes in southern Djibouti
Djibouti, April 4, 2026 - Ali Sabieh / Tadjourah, Djibouti, March 2026 - A new assessment shows significant improvements in household food security among beneficiaries of a food assistance program implemented by the World Food Programme.
According to program data, more than 80% of participating households report improved food consumption and a reduced reliance on negative coping strategies.
The initiative, which provides fresh produce coupons to vulnerable families, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen food security and resilience in southern regions of Djibouti.
