Tabelot: Four Killed in Truck Explosion
Tabelot, December 14, 2025 - A tragic accident occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at around 3:00 PM in Ouwajod, a locality in the rural commune of Tabelot, when a CHAKMAN truck traveling from Agadez to Awzigar exploded.
Authorities reported that the truck was carrying goods and a significant quantity of dynamite. The explosion claimed four lives: the driver, the co-driver, and two local residents - a woman and her daughter.
In addition to the fatalities, the blast caused damage to a classroom in the area. Local officials visited the site on Monday morning to assess the damage and coordinate response efforts.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
