Six Civilians Killed in Attack Near Niamey
Niamey, December 4, 2025 - At least six civilians were killed in Ouro Gueladio, just 30 km from Niamey, in an attack attributed to JNIM, which also left an undetermined number of wounded and missing. This incident marks a further deterioration of the security situation around Niger's capital.
In an official statement, the administrator of the rural commune of Ouro Gueladio offered his condolences to the entire local population, condemning an attack he described as “heinous and barbaric” against peaceful citizens returning from the Youri market.
The administrator prayed for the souls of the victims, asking God to welcome them into Paradise, and wished a speedy recovery to those seriously injured in the attack. He also called on residents to strengthen their collaboration with the Defense and Security Forces, and to scrupulously respect the instructions given, in order to contribute to the protection of the municipality against persistent threats.
