Rwandan Foreign Minister Pays Tribute to Victims of October 7 Attack in Israel
RE'IM, Israel, July 9, 2026 - Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Olivier Nduhungirehe, visited the Nova music festival memorial site in southern Israel to pay tribute to the victims of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack.
The visit took place at the memorial in Re'im, where hundreds of people attending the Nova music festival were killed during the attack.
Rwanda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the visit was intended to honor the victims and commemorate those who lost their lives in the assault.
The visit comes as Rwanda and Israel continue to strengthen bilateral relations, with both countries frequently highlighting the importance of combating hatred, violence, and attacks against civilians while drawing lessons from their respective historical tragedies.
The October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, which involved assaults on civilian communities and the Nova music festival near the Gaza border, triggered the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The war has since resulted in significant humanitarian and security challenges across the region.
Overall, the briefing groups these points under one storyline - Rwandan Foreign Minister Pays Tribute to Victims of October 7 Attack in Israel - within the July 16-31 reporting cycle for RWANDA.
