Mopti, Mali - JNIM Seizes Pro-Government Militia Headquarters in Séguél
Mopti, December 26, 2025 - JNIM militants announced that they had taken control of a headquarters belonging to pro-government militias affiliated with the Malian army in the town of Séguél, located in the Mopti region.
This operation reflects JNIM’s ongoing campaign to weaken local military and militia positions, consolidating control in strategic areas of central Mali. Local authorities have not yet released statements regarding the incident, while security forces are reportedly reassessing their deployments in the area.
