Military Reconversion: 62 Personnel Complete Agriculture and Livestock Training in Ouagadougou
Ouagadougou, December 15, 2025 - The Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs (MDAC) held the closing ceremony for a three-week agriculture and livestock training program designed for military personnel transitioning to civilian life. The event took place at Camp Guillaume Ouédraogo.
The program, aimed at reconverting retiring members of the Defense and Security Forces, enabled 62 participants to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for careers in agriculture and livestock farming.
Colonel-Major Yamba Léonard Oûoba, Secretary General of the MDAC, chaired the ceremony and highlighted the initiative as part of the ministry’s broader policy to support retired personnel, helping them build productive, sustainable, and socially valuable livelihoods in promising sectors.
This training underscores Burkina Faso’s commitment to ensuring that veterans are equipped for post-service careers, contributing to both their personal development and national economic growth.
