Mali | Suspected Jihadists Attack CCM
Kayes, January 11, 2026 - On Sunday, January 11, 2026, suspected jihadists attacked the CCM-Mali SA production unit in Karaga, near Bafoulabé. This marks the second attack on the factory, following a previous assault in July 2025.
Since June 2025, JNIM has been waging a veritable economic war against Mali, targeting state finances by setting fire to factories, gold mining sites, and tanker trucks. The group is calling on foreign NGOs to cease all collaboration with the junta, while dozens of foreign workers of various nationalities remain hostage under JNIM control.
