Mali’s Permanent Representative Presents Credentials to the United Nations in Geneva

Geneva, January 26, 2026 - His Excellency Mr. Sékou dit Gaoussou Cissé, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Mali to Geneva, presented his credentials to Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, at the Palais des Nations on Monday, January 26, 2026. During the audience, the Malian diplomat conveyed the warm greetings of His Excellency General Assimi Goïta, President of the Transition and Head of State, and briefed the Director-General on the current national situation, highlighting the Government’s major efforts in territorial security and sustainable development, guided by a comprehensive strategic vision and clearly defined governance principles. Ambassador Cissé also reaffirmed Mali’s firm commitment to multilateralism, the promotion of sovereignty and equality among states, the preservation of international peace and security, and the strengthening of constructive and pragmatic cooperation with the United Nations system. For her part, Ms. Tatiana Valovaya reiterated the readiness of the United Nations Office at Geneva to support and assist Mali’s efforts, in line with the mandates and principles of the United Nations, of which Mali remains a committed member.
