Mali Launches World Health Day 2026 Activities with Nationwide Awareness Campaign
Bamako, April 8, 2026 - Mali has launched a series of nationwide health promotion activities ahead of World Health Day 2026, focusing on prevention, awareness, and free medical services for the population.
The Ministry of Health and Social Development is organizing a major public event on April 9, 2026, at the Mamadou Konaté Stadium in Bamako. The program includes free medical consultations, screening campaigns, and panel discussions on communicable diseases, alongside sporting activities aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles.
The initiative is expected to be attended by senior government officials, including Colonel-Major Assa Badiallo Touré, alongside other ministerial representatives.
Ahead of the launch, the Secretary General of the Ministry, Dr. Abdoulaye Guindo, together with the Director General of Health and Public Hygiene and representatives of the World Health Organization, held a press conference to officially announce the start of the 2026 World Health Day activities.
The program extends beyond the capital, with awareness campaigns, free screenings, and community mobilization activities planned across Bamako and several regions of Mali.
Officials emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen public health awareness and encourage preventive healthcare practices nationwide.
