Mali | FAMa Conducts Airstrikes and Foils Ambush in Dioïla, Kidal, and Timbuktu
Mali, January 11, 2026 - The General Staff of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) reported the results of operations conducted nationwide on January 11, 2026.
As part of a territorial surveillance mission, FAMa air assets carried out strikes against three armed terrorist groups:
The first strike, west of Bebelin and south of the Kekoro forest in the Dioïla region, neutralized approximately ten terrorists and destroyed several motorcycles.
The second strike, southeast of Tinkeleni in Dioïla, successfully neutralized several terrorists and destroyed dozens of motorcycles.
The third strike, east of Kidal, targeted a vehicle belonging to armed terrorist groups containing explosives.
Additionally, the Malian Armed Forces thwarted an ambush set by an armed terrorist group in Léré, Timbuktu region, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists and the recovery of a significant quantity of weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles.
