Mali Briefs Diplomatic Corps on Security Situation After April 25 Attacks

BAMAKO, May 7, 2026 - Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, has reassured the accredited diplomatic corps of the government’s continued efforts to combat terrorism following the deadly attacks of April 25, 2026.

During a briefing held on Thursday with ambassadors and representatives of partner countries, Minister Diop presented an update on the national security situation and recent developments across the country.

Speaking on behalf of the Malian government, he expressed gratitude to international partners for their solidarity and support in the aftermath of the attacks, describing their response as a demonstration of friendship and cooperation during a period of national mourning.

The minister reaffirmed that the authorities remain fully committed to strengthening security operations and restoring stability across the national territory, while continuing collaboration with international partners in the fight against terrorism.
