Kwamouth: FARDC Neutralizes Mobondo Insurgents in Epumbulu
Kinshasa, December 21, 2025 - Kwamouth, Maï-Ndombe Province - December 19, 2025 - The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) engaged a group of Mobondo insurgents in the village of Epumbulu, Kwamouth territory, during operations on the night of Thursday, December 19.
A preliminary report indicates that four insurgents were killed and one captured alive. According to Captain Antony Mualushayi, spokesperson for Operation Ngemba (Peace), sweep and security operations are ongoing to fully restore order and prevent any resurgence of these armed groups.
The FARDC also reassured civilians that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure their protection, particularly during the end-of-year period, amid ongoing threats from armed groups opposing peace efforts in the region.
