Kinshasa: Sacred Union Holds Peaceful Rally Demanding Rwandan Withdrawal and Enforcement of Resolution 2773
Kinshasa, December 19, 2025 - The Sacred Union for the Nation (USN), the political coalition backing President Félix Tshisekedi, organized a peaceful demonstration in the Congolese capital on Friday, calling for the strict implementation of Resolution 2773.
The resolution urges Rwanda to withdraw from Congolese territory and to end all support for the AFC/M23 armed group. The march began at the Cohydro fuel station in Limete and proceeded to the People’s Palace, where demonstrators gathered without incident.
Addressing the crowd at the final stop, André Mbata, Permanent Secretary of the USN, reiterated the coalition’s demand for respect for international resolutions and the preservation of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s sovereignty.
Several political leaders took part in the rally, including Sylvain Mutombo and Déo Bizibu, alongside representatives of member parties of the Sacred Union. Throughout the march, demonstrators displayed the flags of the United States, which mediated the December 4, 2025 agreement in Washington, as well as flags representing parties within the USN platform.
The rally concluded peacefully, with organizers reaffirming their commitment to non-violence and diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring stability in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
