JNIM Terrorist Attack in Blindio: Southern Threat Escalates
Sikasso, December 20, 2025 - JNIM militants attacked and set fire to the sub-prefecture of Blindio in the Sikasso region. No casualties have been reported.
This attack is part of a series targeting state infrastructure, highlighting the spread of terrorist activity into southern Mali, a region usually less affected. On the positive side, it may prompt an accelerated local military response.
However, without enhanced security measures, the incident exacerbates instability and risks increased displacement of local populations in the south.
