JNIM Seizes Military Post in Koulikoro, Targets Army Vehicle
Koulikoro, March 11, 2026 - The Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) claimed control over a military post in Zantiguila on Thursday, reporting the deaths of one police officer, another missing, and the capture of one military vehicle while a second was burned. On the same day, the group stated that it also targeted a Malian army vehicle with an improvised explosive device (IED) on the Koulikoro-Zantiguila road, highlighting continued attacks on government forces in the region. The incident reflects ongoing insecurity in Koulikoro, where militant operations increasingly threaten local military posts and transportation routes. Authorities have yet to provide an official statement on the attack.
