JNIM Publishes Report on Attack Near Hombori
Mopti, February 12, 2026 - The Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) released details of an attack on Malian army and allied militia forces near Hombori, Mopti region, on Thursday, February 12, 2026. According to the group, the operation resulted in: Destruction of two military vehicles Seizure of an additional vehicle Deaths of several soldiers and militia members Confiscation of heavy and medium weapons and other military equipment The incident highlights the ongoing threat posed by armed groups in the Mopti region and the persistent security challenges faced by government forces and local militias.
