JNIM Escalates Recruitment and Control Measures in Mouhoun Loop
Ouagadougou, December 18, 2025 - Mouhoun Loop, December 2025 - The militant group JNIM has reportedly intensified its recruitment efforts in the Mouhoun Loop region, imposing strict measures on local populations.
Residents who refuse to join the group are subjected to a monthly tax of approximately $100.
Several villages have reportedly been emptied of inhabitants to allow the establishment of militant camps.
These developments highlight the increasing pressure on communities in the Mouhoun Loop and the group’s growing influence in the area.
