JNIM Attack on Army Post Claims Four Soldiers’ Lives
Mopti, February 18, 2026 - The Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) reported that four Malian army soldiers were killed during an attack on a military post in Kariforo-Djenné, Mopti region, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. According to the group, the assault also resulted in the seizure of two military vehicles, several automatic weapons, ammunition, and other military equipment. The incident underscores the persistent security challenges in the Mopti region, where armed groups continue to target government forces and military installations.
