JNIM Ambushes Pro-Government Militia Patrol Between Sofara and Kouli
Mopti, February 14, 2026 - The Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) announced that it carried out an ambush against a patrol of pro-government militias of the Malian army on Saturday morning, February 14, 2026, in the area between Sofara and Kouli, Mopti region.
Officials described the operation as a planned strike on government-aligned forces, reflecting the ongoing security challenges and instability affecting the Mopti region.
