Ituri: Over 200 FARDC Soldiers Complete Training in Combat Tactics and Humanitarian Law

Bunia, November 10, 2025 - More than 200 soldiers from the TIGRE special unit of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) have completed a four-week intensive training program on combat tactics and international humanitarian law.

The training, conducted by MONUSCO peacekeepers at the Diango military training center, concluded on Wednesday, November 5, and aimed to strengthen discipline, enhance civilian protection, and improve the effectiveness of military operations against armed groups active in Ituri province.

During the closing ceremony, Ituri’s military governor, General Johnny Luboya, praised the collaboration and urged the soldiers to uphold courage, professionalism, and respect for human rights in their missions.

MONUSCO announced that additional specialized training sessions will be organized in December, as part of ongoing efforts to bolster the capacity of the Congolese armed forces in conflict-affected regions.
