By Sarah Ndaya2 min readFrançais

The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) and MONUSCO have stepped up their security coordination in the territory of Djugu, in Ituri, following an attack on 5 October by militiamen from the Convention for Popular Revolution (CRP) against army positions in Nyamamba. A reinforced patrol of peacekeepers, which left Bogoro, has been deployed to secure the area, protect civilians and support the FARDC in their operations.

According to Major Ahmed Bouhia, MONUSCO public information officer, this joint action aims to block the movements of armed groups and prevent further incursions into the region.
