Indian Students Mark Genocide Remembrance with Artistic Tribute

New Delhi, April 7, 2026 - Students from several schools in India have presented artworks depicting the history of the Genocide against the Tutsi, as part of commemorations marking its 32nd anniversary.

The exhibition was held on the morning of 7 April during an official remembrance event, where the artworks were displayed and interpreted to invited guests. Organizers said the initiative aimed to educate young people and promote reflection on the consequences of genocide and the importance of remembrance.

Among those attending were Jacqueline Mukangira, as well as Darrin Farrant and members of the diplomatic and educational community. The guests were guided through the exhibition, with students explaining the themes and messages behind their work.

April 7 is observed globally as the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, marking the start of a period of commemoration for victims of the 1994 atrocities.

In Rwanda, the annual National Week of Mourning has officially begun, launching 100 days of remembrance activities held across the country and within the global Rwandan community.
