Djugu, Ituri - Friday, December 26, 2025

Powerful explosions from heavy and light weapons have been echoing since 7:00 a.m. across the territory of Djugu, in Ituri Province, as clashes resumed between the FARDC and fighters of the CRP - The “CRP armed group” the Convention for the People’s Revolution (CRP), a political-military movement led by Thomas Lubanga in Ituri, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which regularly clashes with the FARDC (Armed Forces of the DRC).

The rebel group claims to have seized control of the locality of Bule, a statement firmly denied by the Congolese army. The FARDC report ongoing sweep operations and allege the suspected involvement of certain displaced persons in the violence.

On Thursday, persistent insecurity had already disrupted socio-economic and religious activities throughout the area.

The situation remains tense and rapidly evolving.
