DRC-Russia: Kinshasa Bolsters Military Cooperation with Moscow
Kinshasa, November 19, 2025 - The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Russia agreed to strengthen military cooperation during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Guy Kabombo Muadiamvita, Minister of Defense, and Russian Ambassador Karl Tikhaze.
The partnership is aimed at professionalizing the FARDC through specialized training and regular technical dialogue, aligned with DRC’s international commitments. Discussions also covered consolidating defense capabilities and securing the country’s borders.
Moscow reaffirmed its commitment to advancing collaboration under a strengthened legal framework, while Kinshasa continues strategic partnerships, having recently signed similar defense agreements with Burkina Faso and Niger.
