DRC: MONUSCO Repatriates 17 Rwandan Citizens, Including Former FDLR Combatants
On Thursday, November 12, 2025 - MONUSCO’s Disarmament, Demobilization, Reintegration and Stabilization (DDRS) section repatriated 17 Rwandan citizens, including 5 former FDLR combatants and 9 children, to Rwanda via the Grande Barrière border crossing between Goma and Gisenyi.
The repatriated individuals were welcomed by Rwandan authorities and will participate in a national social reintegration program. This operation marks the second repatriation this week, bringing the total number of former FDLR members and their families repatriated since January 2025 to 166, as part of MONUSCO’s efforts to promote peace and stability in eastern DRC.
