Bougouni, Mali - JNIM Targets Malian Army and AU Forces Vehicle
Bougouni, December 25, 2025 The Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) announced that it targeted a vehicle of the Malian army and African Union forces with an explosive device near the town of Bougouni on the morning of Thursday, December 25, 2025. The attack is part of JNIM’s ongoing operations in southern Mali, aimed at disrupting military mobility and undermining the presence of Malian and international forces in the area. Details regarding casualties or damage have not yet been confirmed by Malian authorities. Security forces are reportedly investigating the incident and have increased patrols and checkpoints in the surrounding areas to prevent further attacks.
