Armed Threats Target Village in Béleko: Christians Asked to Convert or Pay Ransom
Béleko, Mali - November 20, 2025 ; According to a letter from the prefect of Béleko, armed men threatened the chief of the village of Guéguéna-Flala, demanding that the entire community-predominantly Christian-either convert to Islam or pay a ransom of 4 million CFA francs.
The inhabitants are reported to be panicked by the threat. The prefect is requesting urgent intervention from authorities to secure the area and protect the community from potential violence.
