Alleged Massacre in Mali: 10 Mauritanian Nationals Killed Near Bla
Bla, February 4, 2026 - Local sources report a serious cross-border incident in the village of Tourdou, near Bla, in Malian territory, in which ten Mauritanian nationals were reportedly killed in gruesome circumstances.
According to multiple accounts, the victims, from Hassi Alak (Djiguenni district), were grazing livestock when they were allegedly attacked. Witnesses suggest that a unit of the Malian army may be involved. The bodies were reportedly burned and concealed under branches.
Witnesses have identified the herd owner, Cheikhen Ould Embeyarik, and nine of his herders, all from the same village, among the victims. The incident raises serious concerns about security, accountability, and cross-border violence in the region.
