Minaku and Shadary File Moves to Military Auditor-General After 200 Days

Kinshasa, DRC, August 6, 2026 - After more than 200 days of detention, prominent members of the People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy (PPRD), Aubin Minaku and Emmanuel Ramazani Shadary, are scheduled to appear before the Auditorat militaire général on August 7, 2026. The hearing, initially set for August 6, was postponed to avoid potential disruptions from militant crowds. Sources indicate that the two will be picked up at 10:00 AM for transport to an undisclosed interrogation site, although the specific charges against them remain undisclosed at this time.

The case against Minaku and Shadary has garnered significant attention since their arrests in late December 2025 and early January 2026. They were apprehended at their residences by armed individuals, some in uniform and others in civilian clothing. The file concerning their case has recently been transferred from the National Cyber Defence Council (CNC) to the military justice system, marking a significant shift in the handling of their legal proceedings. Dunia Kilanga, another PPRD national cadre, was arrested in the same wave. Charges against Minaku and Shadary had not been publicly detailed at the time of the transfer.
