RDF and UPDF Strengthen Border Security to Boost Regional Stability

Musanze, Rwanda, February 20, 2026 - The Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) and Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) concluded the seventh meeting of the Heads of Defence Forces along the shared border, reaffirming their commitment to enhance border security and promote regional stability. The three-day talks, held in Musanze District, reviewed progress on decisions from the sixth meeting in Kabale, Uganda (September 30 - October 2, 2025), and addressed ongoing challenges along the border.
