Bamako, December 16, 2025 - In the case of Mohamed Youssouf Bathily, known as Ras Bath, the Indictment Chamber did not order his release but instead referred his case to the Assize Court-a court that has been abolished in Mali, creating significant judicial confusion. Media sources indicate that the case will likely be transferred to the Anti-Cybercrime Unit for prosecution.

This incident underscores the dysfunctions within the Malian judicial system, especially in cases involving public figures critical of the regime.
