Four Chinese Nationals Kidnapped in Koulikoro Region Amid Ongoing Insecurity
Koulikoro Region, April 5, 2026 - Security sources report that four nationals of China were abducted in southwestern Mali in an incident attributed to armed militants. According to local and security reports, the kidnapping occurred on Sunday evening, April 5, 2026, in the Narena area of the Kangaba district, within the Koulikoro region. The operation is believed to have been carried out by members of the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin), highlighting the group’s continued ability to conduct targeted abductions, including against foreign nationals.
