World Food Programme extends Djibouti strategic plan through end of 2026 amid funding
Djibouti City, Djibouti, March 17, 2026 - The World Food Programme has extended its strategic plan in Djibouti until December 31, 2026 to ensure continued food assistance for refugees and vulnerable populations. The decision comes despite a reported funding shortfall of $7.7 million, which continues to affect humanitarian operations in the country. Officials say the extension is aimed at maintaining critical support programs while efforts continue to secure additional donor contributions to close the financing gap.
