Vocational Training and Food Security Monitoring in Diffa

By Jean-Marc Okito2 min readFrançais

DIFFA, Niger - The Regional Directorate of the National Agency for Employment Promotion (ANPE) launched a vocational training program for 60 women in the Diffa region on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The initiative aims to promote economic empowerment, skills development, and livelihood diversification among women, providing practical skills in the cosmetics sector.

On the same day, a separate training session for investigators was opened for the national household food security survey, “Sites Sentinelles 2025.” This training is essential for ensuring accurate data collection, which will support the government in anticipating and responding to food crises, a persistent challenge in Diffa and the wider region.

These parallel initiatives demonstrate Niger’s commitment to strengthening human capital and resilience, linking economic empowerment with critical monitoring of food security.
