UNICEF and Abdou Moumouni University Forge Strategic Partnership for Children’s Rights
Niamey, November 19, 2025 - In a major step toward strengthening the academic foundations of child protection and public policy, UNICEF and Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey signed a new memorandum of understanding on Friday, November 14.
The agreement, which builds on three years of collaboration, formalizes a strategic partnership centered on research, training, and policy support related to children’s rights. Officials say the initiative is designed to generate sustainable, evidence-based impact by integrating child-focused studies into university programs and supporting national efforts to improve child welfare.
The partnership is expected to enhance expertise within Niger’s academic institutions, bolster policymaking with reliable research, and strengthen the country’s long-term capacity to protect and promote the rights of every child.
