Tragic Domestic Dispute in Rulindo Leaves Six Children Orphaned
Kigali, December 6, 2025 - A domestic dispute in Kisaro Sector, Murama Cell ended in tragedy when a 52-year-old man killed his 40-year-old wife, who then ingested lethal drugs, authorities report. The incident stemmed from a disagreement over a plot of land the husband wanted to sell, which his wife had refused.
The couple’s six children were left orphaned. Local officials confirmed that the couple had a history of conflicts over property and finances.
The bodies were discovered early Thursday morning by a worker, and transported to Byumba Hospital for autopsy before burial. Authorities called on residents to resolve family disputes peacefully and reminded couples about equal property rights.
