Strengthening Multilateral and Regional Cooperation
NIAMEY, Niger-On Wednesday, October 22, Niger hosted a high-level panel commemorating the 65th anniversary of UN-Niger cooperation and the 80th anniversary of the UN. The event, themed “65 years of Niger-UN cooperation: Perspectives of the UN80 reform and opportunities for national refoundation,” brought together diplomats, UN representatives, and civil society actors.
The discussions focused on aligning the ongoing UN reform process with Niger's "national refoundation" agenda, indicating a pragmatic approach to international partnerships that prioritizes alignment with domestic transitional goals over rigid adherence to pre-existing frameworks.
