TILLABÉRI/TAHOUA, Niger - November 13 - A series of major infrastructure initiatives advanced this week, underscoring the government's determination to close long-standing development gaps and strengthen critical services across multiple regions.

The Minister of Equipment and Infrastructure, Colonel-Major Salissou Mahaman Salissou, officially launched rehabilitation works on the 112-kilometer Farié-Téra road segment (RN4) on Thursday, November 13. The project is expected to significantly improve transportation links between the Tillabéri region and Niamey, while boosting economic activity in one of Niger’s most productive agricultural zones.

The government finalized the transfer of drinking water supply financing to the Niger Water Heritage Company through a subsidiary agreement signed on Friday, November 14, facilitating the implementation of the PASEPA Niamey-Tillabéri water project, which will serve more than 500,000 residents in western regions.

In the Tahoua region, authorities launched specialized training sessions for Municipal Directors and Secretaries-General focused on public service delivery and municipal coordination under the ProDEC project. The program aims to strengthen local governance across 25 pilot communes.
