Bamako, November 14, 2025 - In a decisive move to enhance digital cohesion in the Sahel, the Alliance of Sahel States (ESA) formally signed the radio frequency coordination agreement at borders on November 21, 2025, at the Azalaï Hotel in Ouagadougou.

The signing ceremony brought together Ministers of Communication and Digital Affairs from Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, and Ghana as guest of honor, alongside experts and representatives from national regulatory authorities. The event underscored a shared commitment to regional harmonization, technical collaboration, and digital integration.

The agreement establishes a strategic framework for the coordinated management of radio spectrum across borders, a critical resource for mobile communications, broadcasting, security services, and emerging technologies. Ministers highlighted that such coordination is essential to prevent interference, improve service quality, and support ongoing digital transformation efforts.

Harmonization of frequency coordination parameters and procedures across member states;
