Warsaw, 13 August 2026 - Rwanda’s outgoing Ambassador to Poland, Prof. Shyaka Anastase, has been praised for his role in strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between Rwanda and Poland during his tenure.

Poland’s Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Michał Baranowski, commended Shyaka for his contribution to closer cooperation between the two countries. He also highlighted the ambassador’s fluency in Polish and his academic experience in Poland.

Shyaka, who became Rwanda’s first resident representative in Poland in 2021, expressed appreciation for the cooperation and hospitality he received during his time in the country. He is now completing his diplomatic assignment after several years of engagement aimed at deepening bilateral relations.

On 10 June 2026, Col. (Rtd) Jeannot Ruhunga, former Secretary General of the Rwanda Investigation Bureau, was appointed Rwanda’s next Ambassador to Poland, succeeding Shyaka.
