Rwanda Envoy Advances Accreditation Process In China
Kigali, August 28, 2026 - Rwanda's ambassador-designate to China, Lt Gen (Rtd) Emmanuel Karenzi Karake, presented copies of his credentials at China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, moving closer to formally taking up one of Kigali's key diplomatic postings.
Karenzi Karake presented the documents to Hong Lei at the ministry. The step precedes the formal presentation of credentials to China's president, after which the ambassador can fully assume his duties.
Karenzi Karake was appointed Rwanda's ambassador to China in June 2026. The posting comes as Kigali and Beijing continue cooperation across diplomacy, economic affairs, health and other sectors.
