Rwanda Earns Over Rwf15 Billion from Agricultural Exports in Five Days

Kigali, March 13, 2026 - Rwanda generated more than Rwf15 billion from agricultural and livestock exports between 9 and 13 March 2026, according to the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).

During the five-day period, the country exported 8,300 tonnes of products, including coffee, tea, fruits, vegetables, flowers, cereals, and livestock products.

Coffee remained the top export, with 571 tonnes generating over Rwf5.4 billion, followed by tea exports of 649 tonnes worth more than Rwf2.7 billion.

Other exports included vegetables (431 tonnes), fruits (221 tonnes), and flowers (30 tonnes), contributing hundreds of millions of francs in revenue.

Rwanda also exported over 6,200 tonnes of additional agricultural products, alongside 248 tonnes of animal products, further boosting earnings.

Key export destinations included the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, and several African markets.

The figures highlight the continued importance of agriculture as a driver of export revenue and economic growth for Rwanda.
