Rwanda Awarded Hosting Rights For 2027 FEASSA Games
Morogoro, August 22, 2026 - Rwanda was confirmed as host of the 2027 FEASSA East African Schools Games during the closing ceremony of the 2026 edition in Morogoro, Tanzania, held from August 12 to 22.
Federation president Justus Mugisha announced the decision after the regional schools competition, which brings together student athletes from across East Africa. Rwanda's selection followed its presentation of hosting capacity, sports infrastructure and organizational readiness.
The award reinforces Rwanda's positioning as a regional venue for youth sports, education and cross-border school competitions. It also supports Kigali's broader strategy of using major events to strengthen tourism, services and international visibility.
