Rwanda Appoints Ambassador to Gabon

Libreville, March 19, 2026 - Ambassador Parfait Busabiwa presented his credentials to President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema to officially represent Rwanda in Gabon.

During the meeting at the Presidential Palace, President Nguema welcomed Amb. Busabiwa and praised the strong cooperation and friendship between Rwanda and Gabon, noting that previous agreements have been satisfactorily implemented.

Ambassador Busabiwa, delivering a message from President Paul Kagame, assured that he would work to strengthen ties between the two countries, particularly in trade, tourism, technology, and other sectors of mutual interest.

Rwanda and Gabon have collaborated through international organizations such as the African Union and the Francophonie. Recent milestones include a 2024 cooperation agreement on combating corruption and President Nguema’s visit to Rwanda in 2023 to discuss economic and educational partnerships.

The appointment of Amb. Busabiwa reinforces ongoing efforts to develop Rwanda-Gabon relations in education, trade, agriculture, and technology.
