Rwanda Announces 20th National Dialogue Conference for February 2026

Kigali, January 28, 2026 - The Government of Rwanda has announced that the 20th National Dialogue Conference will be held on February 5-6, 2026, according to decisions from a Cabinet meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame on January 28.

The Cabinet confirmed it had been briefed on preparations for the event, which serves as a national platform bringing together Rwandans at home and abroad to discuss the country’s development, assess progress in improving citizens’ well-being, and hold leaders accountable for their actions.

The conference focuses on evaluating national performance, identifying challenges across key sectors, and shaping policies aimed at sustainable development.

The last National Dialogue Conference was held on January 23-24, 2024, and was inaugurated by President Kagame. It drew participants from across the country and the diaspora, with gatherings in locations such as Kigali, Gatsibo, Rutsiro, Burera, Nyanza, and Poland.

At that time, President Kagame reaffirmed that Rwanda was secure and called on citizens-especially the youth-to take the lead in advancing national development. He emphasized that Rwanda’s future must be shaped first and foremost by Rwandans themselves, urging unity, responsibility, and self-reflection as the foundation of national progress.
