Rwanda And Zimbabwe Move To Deepen Parliamentary Cooperation

By Amina Kabasele3 min read

Kigali, August 19, 2026 - Rwanda and Zimbabwe moved to strengthen parliamentary cooperation, adding a legislative channel to bilateral engagement between Kigali and Harare.

Rwanda's Ambassador to Zimbabwe, James Musoni, met Speaker Jacob Mudenda in Mt Hampden and proposed deeper engagement between the two legislatures. The talks focused on parliamentary diplomacy, institutional exchange and stronger political ties.

The initiative fits Rwanda's broader effort to use diplomacy across African capitals to expand political relationships that can support wider economic and institutional cooperation.
