By Sarah Ndaya2 min readFrançais

NIAMEY, Niger - Wednesday, November 19 - The Ministry of Interior implemented a measured approach to civil society regulation through Radio Message No. 002393, issued on Wednesday, November 19. The directive lifted suspensions for national NGOs and associations that submitted their 2024 financial statements to the Official Journal by March 31, 2025.

This initiative regularizes hundreds of organizations while maintaining suspensions for non-compliant entities, demonstrating the government’s strategy of combining enforcement with incentives to encourage transparency. Reports indicate that approximately 140 organizations (including 60 international and 75 national NGOs) were compliant, while several hundred others remain suspended pending regularization.
