Kinshasa, December 15, 2025 - Rawbank and Visa have renewed their strategic partnership for an additional five years, reinforcing their commitment to the modernization of payment systems and the digitization of financial services in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Launched more than 15 years ago, the partnership has played a key role in expanding electronic payments, supporting e-commerce, widening the merchant network, and promoting digital payment awareness, including through campaigns linked to major international sporting events between 2022 and 2025.

Under the renewed agreement, Rawbank and Visa will prioritize payment tokenization, the development of tailored solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), cross-border payment services, and the promotion of financial inclusion. Special emphasis will be placed on youth, women, and entrepreneurs, through initiatives such as the Visa Academia Card and virtual payment cards.

Rawbank Chief Executive Officer Mustafa Rawji and Sophie Kafuti, Chief Executive Officer of Visa in the DRC, said the renewed partnership strengthens their shared ambition to support the country’s transition toward a formal, inclusive, and fully digital economy.
