Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, December 7, 2025 - Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva arrived in Côte d’Ivoire to attend the inauguration of President Alassane Ouattara, delivering a special message from Rwandan President Paul Kagame. He was welcomed by the Ivorian Prime Minister, Robert Beugré Mambé, before the ceremony.

President Alassane Ouattara won a fourth term in the October 25, 2025 elections, securing 89.7% of the vote. His challengers, Jean-Louis Billon, former Minister of Commerce, and Simone Gbagbo, wife of former President Laurent Gbagbo, received 3% and 2.4%, respectively. All parties acknowledged Ouattara’s victory.

Dr. Nsengiyumva’s visit underscores the strong diplomatic ties between Rwanda and Côte d’Ivoire, particularly in trade and investment. President Kagame previously met with Ouattara in May 2025 during the Africa CEO Forum in Abidjan, a gathering of African and global business leaders, investors, and politicians.

The visit reflects Rwanda’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening bilateral relations with Côte d’Ivoire under Ouattara’s leadership.
