Prime Minister Meets New Chinese Ambassador to Mali
Bamako, February 23, 2026 - Prime Minister and Head of Government Major General Abdoulaye Maïga received H.E. Li Xiang, the newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Mali, on Monday, February 23, 2026.
The courtesy visit aimed to strengthen bilateral partnership between Mali and China, building on the strategic-level relations established during the meeting between President of the Transition General Assimi Goïta and Chinese President Xi Jinping in September 2024 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
The meeting underscores Mali’s commitment to deepening diplomatic, economic, and strategic ties with China.
